Wayfinders - A Pacific Odyssey
This site provide a link to the PBS film "Wayfinders" A Pacific Odyssey." This film is a documentary about the Hokulea and the Polynesian who sepcialize in the art of Wayfinding. It is a fabulous film that is well worth you time. The site has lots of great links to other sites that deal with ancient Hawai'ian history.
Polynesian Voyaging Society
The Polynesian Voyaging Society is best known for undertaking voyages throughout Polynesia using replicas of traditional double-hulled canoes, navigated without modern instruments.
Bishop Museum
The Bishop Museum was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop in honor of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. The Museum was established to house the extensive collection of Hawaiian artifacts and royal family heirlooms of the Princess, and has expanded to include millions of artifacts, documents and photographs about Hawai?i and other Pacific island cultures.
The Hawai'ian Kingdom
Many native Hawai'ians believe that their nation was taken over by the United States illegally and they have a valid point. This site links to one organization that sees itself as the real government of Hawai'i currently operating within what they call the "occupied State of the Hawai'ian Islands. Lots of great historical information here.
